Queenie

digital painting of a white pony in a screen print Andy Warhol style in shades of brown, black white, and pink.

Digital art

This piece was created as part of the 52nd monthly art challenge of the Paard Verzameld global Collective of Equine artists. We were tasked to create a piece reminiscent of Andy Warhol’s screen prints, using one of 4 specific color palettes.

I was inspired by Andy Warhol’s screen prints to think about: Who are the superstars or idols of the equine world? As I was thinking about that question, I found his series of “Reigning Queens”. That gave me the idea to focus on Queenie, a bold little pony who exemplified the superstar that is the riding school horse (Queenie helped my niece Valerie learn to ride!).
