Frequently Asked Questions
- What if I am NOT an artist? Creative expression is for everyone! In this workshop we focus on the process, not the outcome. We will support all participants (whether you identify as an artist or as someone with no artistic “skill”) to let go of self-judgment, stay present and curious, and enjoy yourself!
- What if I am not a “horse person”? That’s totally fine! Even if you have never touched a horse before, if you are open to being moved by the spirit of the horse and to trying out some mindful art practices, you are welcome and encouraged to join. Our hope is for a group of people with a range of experiences and interests.
- What if I AM an artist? If you identify as an artist, this workshop is a good opportunity to try something new, whether that is focusing on the horse as a subject, or approaching the horse in a different way. The practices we will use are also excellent tools for times when you’re feeling “stuck” or overly self-critical.
- What if I miss some or all of it – will I be sent a recording? No. This is a live experience only. To create a space that’s supportive of creative expression and stretching our comfort zones, we will not be recording the session. You can cancel your participation and get a refund up to one day before the event. Cancel earlier to allow in waitlisted folks.
- What should I expect from the workshop? You’ll be guided through a bunch of short art practices, using photos & videos of horses for inspiration. We’ll ground & reflect together along the way. Everything is by invitation, so you can share (or be on camera) only when you are comfortable, and choose to do activities differently if you like!
- How do I connect to the workshop? It’s recommended to join from a computer (or from the largest screen device you have available) so the images will be easy to see. Be sure to install Zoom before the event. To join, click the Zoom link sent when you registered. Being on camera and microphone is encouraged, but not required.
- How long is the workshop? The workshop is 2 hours long, with a short break about half-way through. Past participants have observed that that time flies by!
- Will there be a break? Yes! Since this is a 2 hour workshop, we will have a five minute break about halfway through. If you need to step away at any time during the workshop, that’s fine, too, just remember it won’t be recorded.
